- Jay graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1992 located in upstate New York. He received a degree in American Studies and English. Relocating to Portland in 1996, Jay worked for D.R. Horton until 2000. At this juncture, he moved to Bend looking for an opportunity to build on his own. After working for a local builder, Jay and George Hale, a former business associate, formed Woodhill Homes in April 2002. Since the inception of the company, over 350 homes have been completed.
