More Homeowners Consider Moving into Single Family Homes
Spotted an interesting article over at Bend Weekly. The article states that a new survey conducted by ERA Real Estate and Opinion Research Corporation revealed that one out of five homeowners plan on moving in the next five years. Moreover, we found this part of the article extremely encouraging:
“Of the one in five thinking about moving in the next five years, 65 percent indicated a preference for a single family home.”
Why would 65% of those thinking about moving in the next five years prefer to move into a single family home? Well, we can’t know for sure, but here are some possibilities:
- Provide a sense of stability in owning a house opposed to a townhome, condo, etc.
- Have a yard or any sort of acreage for family-friendly activities
- A mentality that owning a “house” is the first step in starting a family
