Snow has come a bit early to Bend, and with snow comes unsafe driving conditions.  I just wanted to point out an excellent resource on Weather.com that lists some driving safety tips for snow & ice.  A couple of highlights:

•  Bridge & overpasses can be particularly nasty when it’s snowy and icy.  Take extra precaution!
•  Pack some kitty litter or sand in your car or truck’s trunk.  If you find yourself stuck, pour some in front of your wheels to help gain a little bit of traction
• Any & every car is susceptible to sliding, skidding and being stuck.  Even your friend’s four-wheel drive vehicle, as much as he/she might boast that they can take on anything, isn’t invincible to icy conditions

Just give yourself some extra space and take it easy out there!
